ALTHOUGH Vietnam is not internationally recognised as a premier diving location, its 3,500km coastline does offer some gems.

Angel Dive co-owner and principal diving instructor, Mr Frederic Loreau, said: “Divers have the chance to see a wide variety of coral and a large number of species of fish. “Some of them are ‘firstsees’ for most of our clients: frog fish, ghost pipe fish, Indian Walkman scorpion fish and dragonet.”

The coast off Nha Trang has more than 350 species of coral, many of which can be seen at its most popular dive spot, Madonna Rock at Hon Mun Marine Park. Mr Loreau said: “Madonna Rock is a slope from a coral garden starting at around five metres deep, finishing at 28m.”
